Azil 5 is a Serbian alternative rock band formed in 2005 in Novi Sad (Serbia). The discography of the band comprises of two albums: the first „Strastan, go i bos“ which was released in May 2008, published by „Automatik records“, and the second, live album called „IzLiveNo u tisinu“, that was released in September 2009 and published by Radio-television of Vojvodina (National TV broadcast service). During January 2011 the band made a «Tour de Berlin» playing five live concerts in Berlin, among others in famous «Quasimodo» jazz club. Currently, „Azil 5“ is working on it’s third album „Nema choveka danima“ that is expected to be released and published during 2011 by Grecords,

Berlin. The musical genre of „Azil 5“ is most common described as an alternative rock, but there are exceptions like the daliy newspaper’s „Belgrade Insight“ once wrote – dark poetic rock or „Nocturne magazine’s“ quote - transcedental rock. Musical influences sure come from the west in form of most profound works of vocalist Maynard James Keenan from bands „Tool“ and „A Perfect Circle“ and also „Depeche mode“ and „Pearl Jam“, but never–forgeting „Led Zeppellin“ as a reference line. As far as the music scene of the Balkans is consirned influences sure come from ex-Yugoslavian new wave groups such as „EKV“, „Azra“ and „Haustor“, all active in the golden period of ’80s Yugoslavian new wave period.
