Cubismo is a group that plays energetic dance music based on Afro-Cuban rhythms, but in its own unique and recognizable style. Beside salsa and Latin-jazz Cubismo has also been influenced by the elements of jazz, hip-hop, funk and rock music. The band members come from Croatia, Slovenia, Cuba and Ecuador. Cubismo is the leading group for this music style in Croatia and in this part of Europe.

So far the band has released 6 CDs. In its career Cubismo worked with numerous international music stars. Cubismo's CD Motivo Cubano was recorded in Cuba with members of the legendary Buena Vista Social Club. Yolanda Duke, who was at that time a singer in Tito Puente Orchestra, appeared as  guest performer on the CD Viva la Habana. Furthermore Cubismo has a tight and ongoing cooperation with Nelson Hernandez one of the best arrangers and producers of salsa music in the USA.

Cubismo is well known for its high quality music and musicians. However, the greatest aspects of Cubismo are their concerts and live performances, during which their enormous sparkling positive energy moves the audience to swing and dance.

The band was founded in 1995 and was named after the jazz trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie's composition Cu-bi cu-bop, which represented one of the first blending of Afro-Cuban rhythms with jazz and other music styles.
