The seventh of the seventh

Today is a magical day with two magical numbers in the date and we are expecting two major events, Jimmy Cliff’s concertat the Central stage at the Drava river and street theatre performance Factory 1 at the centre of the city.

Jimmy Cliff is the one that contributed to reggae’s popularity all over the world. He is the only living artist in Jamaica to receive the Order of Merit. To name some of his songs: Reggae  nights, I can see clearly now, You can get it if you really want, The harder they come, Sitting in limbo, Rivers of Babylon, Hakuna Matata (The Lion King), etc.

After performing with Santana in Belgrade yesterday, he is ready to impress the audience in Maribor.

Today also happens to be the birthday of Joe Zawinul, one of the biggest names in jazz music, who comes from Styria in Austria. Still, we consider him to be one of ours. He left a mark on the world of jazz music so we wanted to commemorate him by The Syndicate’s performance today at Jazzlent at 10 PM.

Don’t miss the spectacular show at the Trg svobode square. Factory 1 will include fire and burning things, which makes the performance fascinating and raw. Just think how would burning wood look like under a microscope.
